EMI in Electronic Devices: P-SHIELD® Fabric Tapes

Polymer Science offers a wide selection of EMI (electromagnetic interference) fabric tapes for use in the electronic device markets. Our P-SHIELD® fabric tapes are used to prevent or restrict wave interference between other devices and within the device itself. P-SHIELD® fabric tapes offer surface resistivities ranging from 0.07 Ω/sq to 0.2 Ω/sq, depending upon the material and adhesive selected, and are flexible enough to contour around irregular surfaces and angles without compromising strength. Our fabric tapes can be supplied in woven or nonwoven constructions with the customization options to be plated with a thin layer of metal, such as copper and nickel or other conductive foils, to adjust for conductivity.

The ability to fit into small spaces while also providing effective shielding properties makes these tapes ideal for use in small sensitive electronic devices such as smart phones, tablets, automotive infotainment and navigation systems. Our P-SHIELD® EMI fabric tapes can be customized to a variety of thicknesses and laminated with adhesives.
