Enhancing Moisture Management in Adhesives

Low to moderate exudating wounds often detach from traditional silicone gel wound dressings due to buildup of moisture under the wound dressing. To combat that issue, Polymer Science has created a hydrophilic silicone gel adhesive for the medical device industry. Our high tack formulation improves the wear characteristics in applications where flexibility and modest resistance to wear are desired. With an MVTR (Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate) of >450 g/sm over 24 hours, our hydrophilic silicone gels possess characteristics to enhance moisture management under the wound dressing making it ideal for wound care applications.

Our P-DERM® PS-2188 and PS-2189 are hypoallergenic, offer atraumatic removal from the skin and greater than 7 days of wear time. Our hydrophilic silicone gel offers 4.0 N/25mm silicone adhesion and can be customized with various carriers, liners, coat weights and constructions.
