Thermal Management Materials in Solar Energy

Passive thermal management materials including phase change materials (PCMs) and thermal gap fillers are durable and do not require power to operate. - Phase change materials (PCMs): PCMs are materials that perform like a thermal grease with the convenience of a thermal pad. During manufacturing, PCMs can be mounted easily. When PCMs change phase, they absorb or release a large amount of heat. As they soften and flow, PCMs fill in irregular areas reducing natural thermal resistance. This makes them a good choice for passive thermal management for electrical components in solar.
