P-SHIELD® EMI Shielding and Grounding Materials

P-SHIELD® EMI shielding and grounding materials include a range of durable materials including fabric tapes, film tapes, foil tapes, foam tapes and adhesives. P-SHIELD® Fabric Tapes
P-SHIELD® fabric tapes are offered in a wide range of adhesive profiles and thicknesses to suit compact applications. Our thin, lightweight profiles combine with durable elements making P-SHIELD® fabric tapes a great solution in compact designs where space is limited.
Conductive copper and nickel plated fabrics are offered in woven, non-woven and durable ripstop designs. Other variations include conductive acrylic tape, electrically conductive woven tape, electrically conductive non-woven tape, heat activated conductive fabric tape and more.
P-SHIELD® Film Tapes
Providing EMI shielding, P-SHIELD® film tapes are thin, flexible and durable. Many of our film tapes are anisotropic and insulative. Polyimide and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) nonconductive films perform well in extremely harsh conditions providing a great solution for touchscreens, displays, wireless charging and more.
P-SHIELD® Foil Tapes
Foil Tapes provide exceptional shielding effectiveness from a flexible material. Copper foil tapes and aluminum foil tapes are highly conductive and affordable. Laminated with conductive acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive, P-SHIELD® foil tapes provide reliable EMI shielding and grounding solutions for connected driving, smartphones, tablets, computers and other electronics.
Variations include conductive foil tapes and multi-laminate conductive tapes.
P-SHIELD® Foam Tapes
With a wide range of thicknesses available for each product, P-SHIELD® foam materials can compress to fill gaps and provide shock absorption. Foams are available with different compression force profiles as some are soft and others are more rigid. Properly shielding and grounding while also conforming and compressing to housings, P-SHIELD® foams are perfect for smart appliances, medical instruments, smartphones, tablets, computers and other applications.
Variations include polyurethane foam tapes, polyolefin foam tapes and silicone foam tapes.
P-SHIELD® Conductive Adhesives
Offered in a range of thicknesses and adhesion levels, P-SHIELD® conductive adhesives offer effective bonding solutions for electronic device design that require EMI shielding and grounding. Generally, non-supported adhesives are only electrically conductive in the Z axis. Polymer Science offers adhesives with conductive fabric, film and foil to add X, Y axis electrical conductivity. Both PSA and heat activated options provide excellent X, Y and Z axis electrical conductivity.
Variations include conductive acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive tape, double coated acrylic tape, electrically conductive heat activated adhesive and low temperature heat activated adhesive.
P-SHIELD® Conductive Fabrics without Adhesive
There are numerous applications that benefit from conductive fabrics but do not require an adhesive. Polymer Science uses many conductive fabrics as backing materials in our mainstream products. As a roll to roll supplier, Polymer Science affords clients in need of stand alone conductive fabrics the option of ordering our conductive fabrics without adhesives.
Polymer Science offers variations using nickel-copper, carbon-nickel-copper and gold as the conductivity media.
P-SHIELD® Conductive Foams without Adhesive
Conductive foams conform and compress. These qualities of Polymer Science’s conductive foams to provide grounding and EMI shielding, shock absorption and filling gaps suit many applications. Available in a wide range of thicknesses, our team can work quickly to find the ideal conductive foam for your application.
