P-DERM® Skin Contact Adhesive Materials
P-DERM® skin contact adhesives are formulated and fabricated to meet the technological challenges found in today’s medical industry. Polymer Science offers a range of characteristics designed to meet the requirements of many different applications.
P-DERM® Skin Contact
Polymer Science medical adhesives, gels and films are used globally. Our P-DERM® product line includes acrylics, hot melts and polyurethane adhesives, non-adhesive films and Polymer Science’s innovative atraumatic, pain free removal silicone gel and hydrogel adhesives. All P-DERM® skin contact adhesives are made in the USA.
Our staff is capable of developing a quality product consistent with your application requirements quickly.
P-DERM® Silicone Gel Adhesives
Offering a gentle and effective adhesion, P-DERM silicone gel adhesives naturally conform to the contours of the body. Hypoallergenic silicone gel adhesives offer atraumatic removal from skin; capability to be repositioned and excellent converting properties.
Variations include Silicone Bilaminates, Silicone Trilaminates, Silicone Perforated Bilaminates and Silicone Perforated Trilaminates.
P-DERM® Hydrogel Adhesives
Designed to hold moisture at the skin surface, P-DERM® hydrogel adhesives offer a soothing and gentle solution for burns, device fixation, blisters and other skin contact applications. Hypoallergenic hydrogel adhesives offer good adhesion; instantaneous tack and good converting properties.
Now available with 30 to 50% water, hydrogels are more forgiving than silicone gels in trauma settings like EMS and military use.
Variations include Hydrogels, Hydrogel Bilaminates and Hydrogel Trilaminates.
P-DERM® Non-Adhesive Films
Our films benefit many applications that do not require adhesives. Non-Adhesive films provide moisture control to skin and provide protection from abrasion. Polyurethane and silicone films are available in a range of thicknesses and durometer. Both films can be provided blown or with a removable carrier are durable yet gentle on skin. These films are exceptionally thin with cast polyurethane films ranging from 25 micron to 100 micron thickness and blown films ranging from 50 micron to 250 micron thickness. Thickness range of Polymer Science film is 0.12mm – 2.0mm.
P-DERM® Tapes and Medical Grade Adhesives
Compatible with skin, P-DERM® skin contact acrylics, hot melts and polyurethane adhesives exhibit strong initial tack to porous and non-porous materials. These products can be laminated to many substrates including films and foams. Our polyurethane adhesives offer an adhesion range of extremely aggressive to low trauma. Acrylic adhesives are available in both high adhesion and low adhesion atraumatic skin removal options. These materials are low cost, biocompatible and offer a high moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR).
Variations include transfer adhesives, single coated film tapes, single coated foam tapes, double coated film tapes and double coated foam tapes.
